Renee Hazel
Board Secretary
Renee was born in San Jose, CA and grew up in Los Gatos. She currently lives in Northern California and has raised three children with her husband, Greg.
She has over 30 years of accounting experience of which most was in public accounting. She currently is a controller of a privately held company in Campbell, CA. She graduated from Santa Clara University.
She is thrilled to be a part of the We’re Conquering Cancer organization as their Treasurer. Renee’s husband and dad are cancer survivors and there have been many people that she is close to who have lost their battle to cancer.
She has known Laura since 3rd grade when they went to grade school together. Laura and Renee have maintained contact over the years and continue to be great friends. It is important to her to be a part of an organization that brings joy and hope to those dealing with their illness and those who have conquered it!
When not at work, Renee enjoys being with her family, friends and cats, exercising, cooking and gardening. She is known as being very loving, caring and supportive!
Nancieanne Hopkins
Board Treasurer
Nancieanne Hopkins grew up in Florida and graduated from Florida State University. For many years she lived in Northern California but is currently residing in Southern California.
Volunteering has always been a part of her life. She was in Key club and circle K (college level Kiwanis). She continues to volunteer her time with this organization and others including being an advocate against narcissistic abuse and volunteers supporting survivors.
Nancieanne was diagnosed with breast Cancer in 2013 and in 2019. She is now cancer free. She first met Laura on a cancer retreat to Yosemite and she’s been hooked ever since.
With a renewed love for life after beating cancer twice, Nancieanne likes to travel and to spend time outdoors. She has two adult sons, one young granddaughter, and a cat. One of her many hobbies is walking and hiking with her local groups as well as playing Animal Crossing New Horizons on her Nintendo Switch. If you meet Nancieanne you will usually see her smiling and sharing her positivity.
